They have been consulting with local residents to get an idea of what changes/improvements residents would like to see at the park, and are now busily working away to get some funding to make these improvements.

At a meeting in February they highlighted the top issues and came up with some good ideas:
- Nicer areas for children and young people – especially a bigger, natural playground, dog free picnic areas and young people co-creating spaces they want to hang out and will make them feel safer.
- Getting the buzz back in the park – with a cafe, toilets open more hours, better paths, more benches, lighting and more events, volunteer days and seasonal walks.
- Looking after the park – woodland regeneration, tree planting, a nature trail, litter clean up days, bins with covers, and signage to improve understanding of its nature and history.
- Better sports facilities – improvements to the football pitch and basketball court, an outdoor gym, signs for the BMX track and running distances.
Friends of Forster Memorial Park are always on the lookout for volunteers to support/get involved and would love to hear some more ideas for improvements.
