Time is running out to tell Lewisham Council what you think of its new housing strategy.
Consultation on the strategy closes on 19 January.
The strategy covers the period 2015–20 and will govern the way the Council tackles the massive housing challenge the borough faces over the coming years.
Demand is increasing and not enough new housing is being built. The new housing strategy signals the need to do things differently whilst addressing the priorities which are most pressing. The strategy is ambitious but it also has to be realistic.
The Council has identified four key objectives:
- helping residents at times of severe and urgent housing need
- building the homes residents need
- greater security and quality for private renters
- promoting health and wellbeing by improving residents’ homes.
The Council wants to know if you think there are any missing or better objectives and priorities. It also welcomes any views about how objectives and priorities can be taken forward.
Read the draft strategy and submit your views.
