Goldsmith Community Centre

My aim is to make yoga available to everyone, regardless of their financial situation.  It is also to remind you that Yoga is not just an exercise class but a spiritual practice, encouraging each of us to live our life with compassion, integrity and generosity.  So if you feel a bit flush, feel free to pay an extra pound or two, you’ll be contributing towards a lesson for someone less well off.  See it as a random act of kindness, making the world a better place.

Price: Pay what you can afford, classes are offered by heartfelt contribution, according to your means. To give you an idea, London yoga classes range from £8 till £20, so donations between £5 to £15 are gratefully received if you can afford it.

You’ll find a box as you come in, next to the registration forms, waiting to gladly receive your offering.

That’s it. No catch. No fine print.

A couple of spare mats might be available but please bring your own if you can and blanket for relaxation.   You will be asked to complete a registration form first time you come in.  It is so that you let your teacher know about any medical conditions affecting you such as diabetes, recent injuries, pregnancy… because while some of the practices might be beneficial some others might be injurious and should be modified or avoided.  If you have any doubt about your medical condition or the suitability of yoga for you, please consult your doctor.

  1. I’d be very interested in the community yoga – I have back pain from scoliosis and a fusion so I need motivation to stretch and do what I can … I’m very used to movement so I know what I can and can’t do as a retired drama teacher … do I just turn up ??

    1. Sorry for late response. Sounds like this class is perfect for you. Please come 5 minutes before to fill in registration form. Also please bring a blanket to quit warm during relaxation and meditation.

  8. Hi Anne, is this a beginners class? I have been doing yoga for a few years on and off and am looking for a local class but want it to be fairly active, want to feel like I have worked out and used my muscles by holding poses etc…would you recommend yours for that?

    1. Hi Lisa, you need an intermediate class, which is not what I am currently teaching in this class (lots of beginners and I am still getting to know each students). I could design a specific program for you to work on, but this would be on a one to one basis. The advantage of private tuition is that you can work on your specific needs and then you work with that program for a few weeks until you move onto the next stage. Alternatively there are quite a few very physical yoga classes out there, I’m sure you will find one. Blessings.

  9. Hi are these classes still taking place September 2018 and if so where and when
