Friends of Mountsfield Park (FOM) launched a community tree planting event on Sunday mornings.
They intend to plant more than 24 avenue trees next to the main path at Mountsfield Park between the George Lane and Brownhill Road entrances.
Glendale will be supplying them with a variety of rootballed heavy standard deciduous trees. The trees will grow to a large size and are suitable for growing in London clay and an exposed aspect. Many of the avenue tree planting species that have been chosen are better suited to endure areas of heavily compacted soil that we have at Mountsfield Park.
During the events you will find FOM members along the main path between the George Lane and Brownhill Road entrances.
The next planting days are:
11am – 1pm approximately, on Sunday mornings – 4, 11 and 18 February 2018.
Remember to wear boots, gloves and bring a strong spade if you have one.
