lewisham-high-streetBusinesses in Lewisham have been invited to register for the first ever ‘Lewisham Means Business’ exhibition and expo to be held on Wednesday 19 February at the Civic Suite in Catford.

The free event, which runs from 9am to 5pm, is being organised in conjunction with the Federation of Small Businesses (FSB) and is for Lewisham business owners who want to network, meet local suppliers, get advice on how to grow their sales, discover the possibilities of social media and learn about the support available to them from the Council.

Delegates will be able to hear from a range of guest speakers including Nick Howe from NatWest who will offer advice on starting up a new business and Ben Kench, author of ‘Sales for Dummies’, who will explain how to boost business sales.

The event will also feature exhibitors offering business-to-business services like web design and legal and financial advice.  In addition, free one-to-one advice sessions will be on offer to attendees – details of which can be viewed and booked online in advance.

Sir Steve Bullock, Mayor of Lewisham, said: “The Lewisham Means Business event will bring together industry experts, business advisors, local suppliers, and some of Lewisham’s top entrepreneurial talent. Anyone who is looking to start a business, or maintain or grow the business they already have, should find something of interest during the day.”
